    Widely lauded and well-known, the CFO Thought Leader is the podcast classic for this genre. It’s co-hosted by Jack Sweeney, a journalist who is passionate about examining the role of the CFO from multiple angles. The best part about this podcast is that it features CFOs of transnational corporations as well as smaller startups and invites them to talk about a variety of topics in their own words.

    3) Brush up on accounting theory: Accounting Best Practices
    The Accounting Best Practices podcast is an excellent resource for finance leaders who are looking to grow their knowledge on the technical side of accounting. Episodes are often ten minutes or less and host Steven Bragg, former CFO and the author of over 100 books on accounting and finance explains complex concepts in a refreshing and easy-to-understand way.

    The HBR Ideacast is a business podcast with a uniquely global perspective. This is a great podcast if you’re interested in the internal and external forces that influence the office of finance and how leaders have dealt with them over the years.

    Produced by NPR, Planet Money is a podcast on the economy, business and everything in-between. Not exclusively focused on finance, it features stories that have important implications for business leaders such as trade wars and tariffs. While going in-depth to talk about economic challenges, it uses angles that are fresh and quirky such as the gold rush and the plight of sugar farmers.
